This procedure configures Cloud Cruiser to work with Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server. It is part of the procedure Installing and configuring Cloud Cruiser Analytics.

If your Cloud Cruiser installation will have more than one application instance as documented in Setting up multiple application instances and you will use Cloud Cruiser Analytics with them, this procedure requires extra or different steps. Contact Cloud Cruiser for assistance.

Before you begin

Publish workbooks to Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server as described in Publishing workbooks.

To configure Cloud Cruiser for Analytics

If you have not accessed the Cloud Cruiser Portal before, see Accessing the Cloud Cruiser Portal for instructions.

  1. Browse to your Cloud Cruiser Portal and log in as an administrator user whose username also exists on Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server.
Cloud Cruiser passes the name of its current user to Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server with each request, so if you are logged in here with a username that does not exist on Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server, you will be unable to successfully test the connection in this procedure.
  2. Go to Administration > Configuration > Analytics and set the Enable Analytics option to Yes.
  3. Enter or select values in the fields that appear:
    • Server: The hostname of the Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server computer.
This must be a hostname or IP address that resolves correctly for all client computers that will use Cloud Cruiser Analytics.
    • Port: The HTTP port on the Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server computer. Leave the default value of 8000 unless you have changed this port.
    • Use SSL: Determines whether to use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to communicate with the Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server computer. Leave the default value of No unless you have configured Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server to use SSL.
    • Database Port: The PostgreSQL database port on the Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server computer. Leave the default value of 8060 unless you have changed this port.
    • Database: The name of the PostgreSQL database. Leave the default value of workgroup.
    • Database Username: The username used to connect to the PostgreSQL database. Leave the default value of tableau.
    • Database Password: The password for the tableau user, which you created earlier on the Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server computer.
    • Site: The Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server site whose analytics reports you want to display in Cloud Cruiser. Leave the default value of CloudCruiser unless you want to display analytics reports from all sites, including those not related to Cloud Cruiser. In that case, clear this field.
  4. Click Test Connection. If you get an error message, fix the error and try again.
The message No workbooks found for site: CloudCruiser means that you did not successfully complete the procedure in Configuration in Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Go to Administration > Users.
  7. For each user for whom you created an account in Configuration in Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server, select the Advanced Analytics role and save.
The default admin user does not automatically have this role, so you must add it for this user just like any other.
  8. Inform these users that to see analytics reports in Cloud Cruiser, they must set their browser to allow third-party cookies.
    Passthrough authentication to
Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server requires this. The steps vary by browser, so consult the documentation for the browser you use.

Congratulations! You have finished installing and configuring Cloud Cruiser Analytics.
