Installing Cloud Cruiser Analytics

This article is part of To install and configure Cloud Cruiser Analytics:

1. Install Analytics Server
and Analytics Desktop

This article explains how to install the two Windows applications that make up Cloud Cruiser Analytics, Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server and Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop. This software is provided to you separately by HPE staff and is not included in the Cloud Cruiser product download.

Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server

To install Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server

  1. Launch the installer provided by HPE staff, running it as an administrator user.
  2. Click through the wizard, accepting default values, until the installer prompts you to activate Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server.
  3. Activate Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server with the product key provided to you by HPE staff and click Continue.

If at a later date you need to add additional user seats or make other modifications to your product key, use the Manage Product Keys utility installed with Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server.

The Tableau Server Configuration dialog appears.
  4. If the Port number (default value 80) conflicts with another application running on this computer, change it.
For example, Cloud Cruiser's application server uses port 8080 by default, so avoid that port if installing on the same computer.
  5. Click OK, even if you haven't made any changes, to continue the installation. Then click through the remaining screens of the wizard.
The Tableau Server Setup Tasks window opens in your browser, prompting you to add an administrator account.
  6. Create a username, display name, and password to use to administer Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server, then click Add User.
You can set these to anything you like. To simplify user maintenance and avoid common errors, HPE recommends using the same username as the Cloud Cruiser administrator account that you will use when later performing Configuration in the Cloud Cruiser Portal. The default administrator account is admin.
The Content tab of Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server appears.

You have finished installing Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server. If you use Oracle as your Cloud Cruiser database server, you must install the Oracle driver for Cloud Cruiser Analytics Server now.

Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop

HPE recommends that you install Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop on the same computer as Cloud Cruiser. This is because you will open files in Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop that are installed with Cloud Cruiser.

To install Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop

  1. Launch the installer provided by HPE staff and click Install.
  2. When the installer prompts you to activate Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop, activate it with the product key provided to you by HPE staff and click Continue.
    Cloud Cruiser Analytics Desktop opens.
