Increasing allocated memory

Table of contents
No headers

The default server memory settings are a minimum of 512MB and a maximum of 1GB, which should be sufficient for most installations. However, it might be necessary to increase the amount of allocated memory, such as when you are deploying multiple application instances. If you see a GC overhead limit exceeded error related to a charge process, consider increasing the memory settings.

To increase allocated memory

  1. Edit the <install_dir>/conf/system.properties file and modify one or more values in the following section:
    #
    # Application server configuration
    #
    serverMinHeapMB=512
    serverMaxHeapMB=1024
    serverMaxPermGenMB=256
  2. Apply your changes, as described in Modifying system or Tomcat properties.
