Cloud Cruiser Express consists of these primary components:

Cloud Cruiser Express needs only one collector to collect from Windows Azure Pack, but collectors for other data sources are a premium feature available with Cloud Cruiser

  • Collectors gather and process consumption data from your cloud infrastructure. This component includes executable XML scripts that are configured for Windows Azure Pack, and the Java run-time libraries that support the financial rules engine and other operations.
  • The database stores customer data, user data, cost data, and other financial information.
  • The application server hosts the Cloud Cruiser Express Portal, which allows users to access their cost data using standard web browsers. The application server is installed as a system service.

These components combine with Cloud Cruiser extensions in the Windows Azure Pack Admin Site to enable users to see charges for collected usage in the Windows Azure Pack management portal for administrators and management portal for tenants.

The following is the recommended deployment of this architecture, using three VMs:
