Allowing tenants to view their costs

In addition to the views of costs for all tenants available in the Windows Azure Pack management portal for administrators, you can also enable tenants to view their own costs in the management portal for tenants. This visibility can often encourage tenants to use cloud services more judiciously.

A tenant can only see costs for their own account, not for any other tenants.

To enable tenants to view costs

  1. If you have not yet installed the Cloud Cruiser extension on your Windows Azure Pack tenant site, do that now.
On your tenant site machine, run the Microsoft Web Platform Installer and from the Products area, select and install Cloud Cruiser for Windows Azure Pack: Tenant Site Extension.
  2. In the Windows Azure Pack management portal for administrators, click Plans to view a list of plans.
  3. For any plan whose tenants you want to be able to view costs, double-click the plan, then click Add Service .
  4. Select the Cloud Cruiser service, then click the check-mark button to save the new service.
    Leave the default Instance selection.
  5. Repeat this procedure for each plan whose tenants you want to be able to view costs.

NOTE: If after performing this procedure you click the Cloud Cruiser service in the Plan Services list of any plan, you receive the message Failed to load configuration for service 'Cloud Cruiser'. This is normal. There is nothing to configure for this service, so the message does not indicate that anything is wrong.
