Using tags

The Tags area of the sidebar


Articles on this site can have tags that provide additional categorization beyond their placement in the site hierarchy visible in the breadcrumbs at the top of the page. Tags appear at the bottom of the sidebar, as shown in the screenshot at right.

A tag usually represents a subject covered in an article, but could be used for other metadata such as media used in the article or the intended audience. Tags influence site search results and the articles that appear in the Related Articles section of the sidebar.

Using tags to search

Click a tag to search for all articles on the site that carry the tag. This is a great way to find related articles that don't fit in the Related Articles area, which is limited to five articles.

You can also search for pages with a given tag by using the search prefix tag:. For example, to find articles with the reports tag, enter tag:reports in the Search field.

Product version tags

Whenever an article is added or updated as a result of a product release, we tag that article with version_<number>. For example, articles added or updated to explain functionality introduced in Cloud Cruiser 3.4 and Cloud Cruiser Express 3.4 have the tag version_3.4. This enables you to see the list of these articles by searching for the version tag.
